ClassPass Auckland yoga guide 2026: which studios, what's worth it
ClassPass is a subscription that gives you credits to spend across thousands of fitness studios worldwide, including a decent slice of Auckland’s yoga scene. It is the best way to try multiple studios on a single payment, and it is genuinely useful if you do not want to commit to one studio’s membership.
It is not, however, the best deal for everyone. This piece is the honest version.
How ClassPass works
You pay a monthly subscription. You get credits. Each class costs a different number of credits depending on the studio, the time of day, and the popularity of the class. Unused credits roll over up to a limit. You book through the ClassPass app.
Plans in NZ in 2026 sit roughly at:
- 8 credits: ~$60/month
- 24 credits: ~$110/month
- 38 credits: ~$160/month
- 56 credits: ~$220/month
- 70+ credits: ~$260/month
A typical yoga class in Auckland costs between 4 and 12 credits depending on the studio and time slot. A 30-credit plan gets you roughly 4 to 6 classes a month at boutique studios.
Auckland yoga studios on ClassPass
These are the studios you can book through ClassPass as of 2026:
- Kenkō Studios, Eden Terrace (the editor’s pick; expect 8-12 credits per class)
- The Yoga Ground, Grey Lynn (4.8 rating from 1000+ reviewers)
- HUM Yoga (formerly Basecamp), Grey Lynn (4.9 rating from 25,000+ ratings)
- HIYOGA, CBD and Henderson (4.9 rating from 1300+ reviewers)
- Sweat Yoga, Newmarket (the Hot HIIT Pilates is the cult booking)
- Achel Hot Yoga, Botany (4.8 rating from 500+ reviewers)
- Redroom Wellness, City Works Depot and Takapuna
- Yoga Aotearoa, The Button Factory (5.0 rating from 58+ reviewers)
- Sala Studio, Ponsonby
- Kanuka Yoga Space, West Harbour (some classes)
Auckland yoga studios NOT on ClassPass
These studios are excellent but you cannot book through ClassPass. You will need to go direct:
- Eastwest Yoga, Ponsonby and Newmarket. The decision is deliberate; the studio prefers direct relationships.
- Auckland Yoga Academy, Federal Street. Same. The Mysore programme would not work well in a credit-booking model.
- The Loft Yoga Lounge, Beach Road. The $9-with-dinner model does not need ClassPass.
What ClassPass is good for
Variety. If you want to try different studios, teachers and styles, ClassPass is the cheapest way to do it.
Newcomers to the city. You can practise across Auckland in your first month without committing to any one studio.
Travel. Your ClassPass works in any city it operates in. Useful for work travel.
Peak times. If you can book peak-time classes (6 pm vinyasa, Saturday morning flow) the cost per class is competitive.
What ClassPass is not good for
Daily practice at one studio. A membership is cheaper.
Last-minute booking. Popular classes fill 24 to 48 hours ahead. The flexibility ClassPass markets is partial.
The studios that are not on it. If you want to practise at Eastwest or Auckland Yoga Academy, ClassPass does not help.
High-credit classes. Some peak-time bookings at Kenkō or Basecamp cost 12 credits, which on the 24-credit plan means only two classes a month at those studios.
How to get the most out of ClassPass
- Book ahead. Three to seven days out for popular classes. Most boutique studios open booking 7 days ahead.
- Book off-peak when possible. 10 am or 12 pm classes are often half the credit cost of evening classes.
- Use the studio’s intro offer first. Studios offer better intro deals direct than through ClassPass.
- Pair with a direct membership. Many people have a primary studio membership ($180/month at Kenkō or HIYOGA) plus a small ClassPass plan ($60/month) for variety.
- Cancel sensibly. Late cancellation fees (within 12 hours) charge you the class credits and a small penalty.
A starter ClassPass strategy
Month 1: 24-credit plan ($110). Try 4-6 different studios. Decide which two you love.
Month 2: 8-credit plan ($60) plus a direct membership ($180) at your favourite studio. Total $240/month for unlimited at one studio plus 2 classes elsewhere.
Or, if you want to keep moving: 38-credit plan ($160) and rotate across 4-6 studios indefinitely.
